The Witch Queen expansion is right around the corner and hardcore completionists are eager to find out how much they could progress through the new season. Well, that’s the Destiny 2 The Witch Queen soft cap that you need!
In every season of Destiny 2, players will have a level of entry, the level that they start the season at, as well as a soft cap level, the highest level that a player can reach throughout the season.
As revealed in a blog post by Bungie a few weeks earlier, the Destiny 2 Light Level soft cap for Season of the Risen, the same season that welcomes the arrival of The Witch Queen, will be 1500. Also, the starting level for players will 1350.
Now, Bungie has a special offer for hardcore players that sounds tempting! According to the developer, players will be able to play The Witch Queen campaign at the Legendary difficulty level from day one, and if you manage to finish the campaign at this level of difficulty, you will reach level 1520 at the end of the campaign.

So, yes, Bungie not only offers 20 levels above the soft cap for hardcore players but also lets you skip the usual grind for reaching the soft cap itself. That being said, finishing the campaign at the highest difficulty level is a huge grind on its own.
This is the first time that Bungie allows players to play the Legendary difficulty level right at launch. And as I said earlier, the reward is also tempting enough to give it a shot, at least.
The Witch Queen expansion will go live on February 22. Although it’s a paid DLC, you can still play the very first quest of the campaign for free after updating your game to the latest version.
Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia.
