Visual Concepts and 2K Games unveiled the next wrestling simulation with a brand new teaser. WWE 2K22 release date is coming soon.
After an awful year with WWE 2K20 back in 2019, 2K Games decided to give a one-year break to the developer, Visual Concepts, to work on the next entry of the series. After skipping WWE 2K21, now the next entry of the series, WWE 2K22 has been announced with a brief teaser trailer.
Shared by the 2K Games’ official Twitter account, the new teaser showcases Rey Mysterio as the icon of the game entering the ring with his famous Mexican mask in the face. The trailer has a brief in-game scene as well, where Mysterio performs the 619 finisher against his opponent.
Unfortunately for Visual Concepts and 2K Games, the reaction of the fans in the comments of this tweet doesn’t seem friendly enough. Players have not forgotten the WWE 2K20 disaster and it seems they wouldn’t believe in the new version unless they see some positive pulse from reviews or previews of the game.
The WWE 2K22 release date is yet to be revealed, though the teaser promises that the game will be coming soon. If the developers follow their same launch schedule, the game would probably be out in the Summer this year.
The target platforms are yet to be announced, but it’s hard to believe that the game would be a current-gen exclusive. It will probably be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A Nintendo Switch version is where we can’t really have any pre-release guess.
Currently, the only thing we can do is to wait until more details and trailers come out from the game in the future. Let’s hope the developers play the game before launch, this time around.
