Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Release Date Revealed in New Trailer

Book a trip to Hong Kong Island in 2022.

Along with a brand new cinematic trailer introducing Hong Kong Island, Nacon revealed the Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown release date, which is set for September 22, 2022.

The Test Drive franchise is one of the longest-running racing series in the history of video games. The first entry of the franchise was launched back in 1987, while the latest entry was published in 2012. Test Drive Unlimited is a new franchise inside this family that focuses on offering an open-world racing experience, much similar to what the Forza Horizon series excels at.

The first title in the Test Drive Unlimited series was released in 2006, followed by a sequel in 2011. Now, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is a reboot of the series and is supposed to be out on September 22, 2022.

Thus far, the game has only received cinematic trailers, with no information on the gameplay features. However, the latest trailer revealed Hong Kong Island as the main setting of the game, featuring both on and off-road areas.

The new trailer is, in fact, a sequel to the last cinematic teaser, following the close race between an Aston Martin and a Range Rover in different locations of Hong Kong Island. As the developer claims, they have recreated the Hong Kong Island in 1:1 scale in Solar Crown.

Currently, there aren’t many competitors to Playground Games’ Forza Horizon series when it comes to delivering a content-rich open-world racing experience. The Need For Speed series has been far away from its glorious era for years now, and that’s why fans expect something big from Solar Crown.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is being developed by KT Racing, a French team that is best known for its WRC simulations over the past few years. The game will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
